FAQ's

After enrollment, you will receive:

• A phone call & email from Ms. Kim to confirm your requested weekly lesson day/time
• An email with a link to your online student portal via My Music Staff
• Your first invoice (with auto-pay setup)
• List of required learning material

After enrollment, you will be provided will a list of needed material (including online links to purchase learning material).  In addition to your instrument of choice & learning material, you will need a:

• Pencil
• Music Stand
• Mirror (to view your posture while playing)

You will receive a weekly lesson recap.  Recaps will be written out on your official "Daily Exploration" sheet and sent via email. You will also find all covered material in the "Online Resources" section of your TMC student portal.

YES! The Musical Corner is a performing arts school.  Students are highly encouraged to participate in our regular Fall and Spring recitals.

In preparation for college auditions and beyond, high school students also have the opportunity to perform their own recital.  Student recitals require a minimum of 20-minutes of playing time.

TMC recognizes & observes all major holidays, including Kwanzaa & Hanukkah. Families will be notified in advance of all closure day(s).  Lessons that fall on any closure day will be rescheduled for a different day/time before or after the holiday.

Expect to have loads of fun! Your trial lesson is an entryway for your Montessori guide to understand how YOU learn and your current playing level.  All students should be prepared to play a selection of their choice. 

As a welcome to TMC, you will receive your TMC lesson folder.  This folder will have a music theory sheet & the selected piece (based on your playing level).  Students will be guided through the selected piece.  Together, we can achieve our goal of playing the entire piece at least 2 -3 times.

A lesson recap sheet will be emailed to the parent/guardian/student after the lesson.

In case of any absence, contact TMC as soon as possible.  Missed lessons with provided notification will be rescheduled to another day/time.  If the day/time is unable to be established at the time of notification, a make-up credit will be applied to your account.

*Make-up credits must be used during its current term.  Credit will not be issued for any no-call/no-show absence.*

Each student receives one(1) lesson/class per week.  Students can choose to have weekly 30, 45, or 60-minute private lessons.  Group classes will meet weekly for 1 - 1.5 hours. 

All lessons/classes will meet on a scheduled day/time each week.

We offer in-home & virtual lessons.  Virtual students will be able to see their music guide on two separate screens; an overhead view of her/his hands & another view of her/his face.
