Meet the Owner

From the moment that I could hold a book, I fell in love with learning.  I would run home every day to share all that I had learned with anyone who would listen!  My favorite way to learn was through music.

It was a sunny day in 1995 when I heard the most amazing piece of art; Igor Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring".  Soon after, I was formally introduced to the bassoon.

Though learning the bassoon without the guidance of a private teacher was a bit challenging at times, I was extremely fortunate to learn from my peers and observe various other players.  Vastly excelling academically, learning through the arts became my haven.  While growing up as an artist and life-long learner, I was also connecting and learning more with my youngest brother who had recently been diagnosed with Autism.

During my early years, I was a member of my school's concert band (bassoon), marching band (drum line), indoor marching drum line, and percussion ensemble.  I also had the honor of touring Europe with the Spirit of America National Honor Band and earned placement into the South Carolina Collegiate Band.

Furthering my experiences and knowledge, I went on to obtain a Bachelor's degree from Middle Tennessee State University in Music Performance (Bassoon).  I am a proud member of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity, Inc.

My joys of growing in the Montessori philosophy continued to blossom during my years as a  mentor for Big Brother Big Sister of Rutherford County.

After many years of being a performer and Montessori music educator, I decided to finalize my dream school.  Sharing my love of learning and the arts through the Montessori philosophy with everyone is a dream come true.

Welcome to The Musical Corner! We appreciate you for being you.
